How to choose my friend ?  -
This is very difficult to find out, that too before you want to enter into the relationship! Nonetheless, Hinduism gives some clues on how to choose the right persons you want and what would be the consequences of your relationship depending upon the type of the person you are in relation with. There are THREE types of persons in the world, broadly speaking. The first one, the best person gives importance ONLY to Dharma, the righteous living and nothing else. This type of persons are the cream, the peaks of the humanity. These people don't care anything but, dharma, the righteous living. They don't care wealth, position, name or fame or any...

Why many Gods have Lotus flower ? - In Hinduism and the other eastern religious too, we often see gods holding Lotus in their hands or sitting on lotus or related with lotus in one or the other way. In the scriptures too, the hands and eyes of the gods are compared with the lotus. Its like lotus feet of the god, the hands or palms of the gods are like lotus or lotus petals, eyes of the gods are like the lotus or lotus petals, etc.

For example, mother Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, is always with lotus. She is sitting or standing on lotus flower, holing lotus flower. Mother Saraswathi, the...

Is Adhi Sesh holding the Earth on his head ? - Indian scriptures are all very scientific in nature but, these ancient sastras were written in a coded language and unfortunately we, the modern people don't know how to decipher the scientific secrets present in the ancident sastras and hence, we think or believe the ancient scriptures are all meaningless stories and this is not our fault either. Because, if a school child sees the relativity theory equations, doubtlessly the child will think it's......

Why not to escape punishments ? : Whatever we do knowingly or unknowingly now will give its result back to us some time in the future without fail. We have to bear the fruits of our actions. The eastern religions call this as the ‘law of Karma or the law of actions’. This is akin to the Newton’s third law of motion, which states that ‘for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction’. The above mentioned ‘law of actions’ is in fact a broader version of the Newton’s third law and it applies to any action in general not only to motion...

Life - is to grow..!

You will get your own day! Struggle, sorrow and suffering are the integral parts of life; they are bound to be there in life. Life can’t be there without sorrow, suffering and struggle – these are the parts and parcel of the capsule of life. So, it is NOT wise to get dishearten when something bad knocks at the door of life. For a person who is daring enough to welcome death wholeheartedly, even the death will fear, will be defeated, ashamed.....

Life after Death..!
Life after death ?  Different religions on the globe have different answers to this fascinating question: 'what happens after death?'. The western and the eastern religions have quite different views on the life after death. These two mainly differ on the issue that whether the 'soul' has rebirth after death or not. How to get maturity ?  Life a great voyage from the known to the unknown! The sole purpose of this voyage is nothing but, spiritual maturity. This applies not only to the ‘human beings’, but to all the living beings as well. All beings are continuously maturating, knowingly or unknowingly. The Hinduism says in each step of the life, with each experience, with each work - the ‘soul’ gets maturity, but the maturity level differs on the kind of work or experience the ‘soul’ faces or involves...

Why do people disagree ? - We often come across people debating or fighting on different issues and without any final verdict. Have you thought of the reason for this lack of compromise in spite of their sophisticated reasoning and logic? Even the highly intellectuals are not coming into compromise! Let aside the bad people, even the good people fail to come to compromise, unfortunately! For example the wife...

Why do we suffer in the World ? - Although the world is full of problems - not all people are suffering from the same or similar problems. Different people suffer from different problems and the Hinduism gives two reasons for this!  ONE - If you are suffering from a particular problem [suffering] then in the past, the Hinduism says ..

Are aliens watching us ? - While the modern cosmologists [especially the SETI - project] are aiming their telescopes at the far away galaxies and stars in search of ‘aliens’ the Hindu scriptures claim that certain ‘alien’ beings in fact are living around, observing us - from nearby having their...

Why Smoking is Sin ? - The Hindu religion imposed a ban on - smoking, drinking and using drugs and stamps them as mahaa patak, the great sin. There are few more ‘sins’ in the list that come under mahaa-patak but, the article is limited to the discussion exclusively on - smoking, drinking and using drugs...

What the bad times mean ? - Isn't there a good time for seeding a particular crop ? Can you buy the shares during the war times ? Yes - certainly there are times for doing things. Hindu Cosmology – Part II - The universe we live in is made up of atoms constituting the elementary particle trinity of - electron, proton and neutron. But, Hindu scriptures say – there are other types of matter particles too apart from the matter we see around. Possibly this could be the dark matter...
